When considering Capturing Quantities tasks, ask yourself:
- Will this task provide students the opportunity to practice articulating quantities and the relationships between them?
- Are there helpful “hidden” or implied quantities and/or relationships in the problem that can be surfaced through a visual representation?
- Will creating a diagram help students make sense of the relationships between the quantities in the problem situation?
